COUNSELOR IN THE CLASSROOM

The South San Antonio Counselors teach guidance lessons in the classroom to support and enhance the learning process.  Some topics include: 

 

Coping Skills

Coping Skills help equip students with the skills needed to address anxiety, frustration, anger, sadness and other stressful emotions in healthy ways.  

 

Healthy Relationships

This topic helps students identify and recognize healthy and unhealthy relationships.  It also provides them with skills to make positive relationship choices.

 

Bullying/Cyberbullying

This topic helps students learn all aspects of bullying/cyberbulling.  It focuses on prevention and character education. 

 

Self-Awareness

Self-Awareness helps students identify and be aware of their own thoughts and feelings.  It focuses on how to regulate their emotions and responses to different situations.

 

Drug Prevention and Awareness

This topic helps equip students with the skills to make healthy choices necessary for a full and productive life.  

 

College and Career Readiness

College and career readiness provides students with opportunities to explore a variety of careers and help them align their educational choices with their future career goals.
